Before travelling via truck to Seattle in December of 1998, Seven Bells lived
all its life in the San Francisco Bay area. These photos were taken during the

Shakedown Celebration, December, 1998
For the Shakedown Celebration, two days before the boat was trucked to her
new home in Seattle, the restoration crew plus her new Seattle crew went on a misty
evening cruise across the Bay from Richmond to dinner at Pier 39 in San Francisco.
Mampouya (with help from Frederique, Sally, and Andy) turned in a virtuoso performance on
the congo drum, Jeff provided scintillating commentary on aids and navigational dangers,
Alix held on tight, Gladys recalled her first date with Jeff, and Andy worked at learning
how to drive. Everybody else tried to avoid falling off.
